Title Film Genres 
Description An examination of a major cinematic genre (e.g, the gangster film, the western, the musical) with emphasis upon the permanence and evolution of generic conventions and the ability of filmmakers to register personal visions within these conventions. Prerequisite: [a grade of "C" or better in each of FILM 1290 and FILM 1310 (or the former FILM 1300)] or written consent of instructor. The course content may vary. Students can earn multiple credits for this course only when the topic subtitle is different.
